Under Wraps

Prologue

Speaker Dialogue
Thunder crashes overhead, as purple lightning strikes on a remote farm. Beside a sign reading “Welcome to Dairyville", two boys pry a barbed wire fence up with a stick and crawl under, another mud-covered boy with a piglet reluctantly following.
Todd M-maybe we shouldn't be here!
The red haired teen leading the charge and the other in a pair of dungarees turn to look at the boy holding his pig, still on the other side of the fence. The pig oinks with a smile.
Red Haired Teen #1 I knew we shouldn't have brought him. He's nothing but a big baby!
Teen #2 Come on, Todd. Don't wimp out now. It's just a little fun. You push over the cow, and it can't get back up.
Red Haired Teen #1 (laughs) We'll even let you tip the first one, unless… the baby wants to go home so mommy can change his diaper.
The red-haired teen mimes sucking his thumb. The mocking spurs Todd on to go up to the cow and push with all his effort, as well as his pig's. Todd grunts as he slips over, landing in more muck with a splash, and covering his piglet in the muck too.
Teens (laughing)
Teen #2 Priceless! Dude!
The animal, turns to the teens and they see it to be a bull as it bellows. The teens scream as they flee, the piglet squealing as it also runs.
Todd Hey, where's everybody going?
Bull snorts on the back of his neck, as it looks ready to charge.
Todd (defiantly) Back off, cow chip!
Bull bellows before it turns and runs away.
Todd Yeah. That's right. You do not want to mess with Todd Maplewood!
Todd turns around to see a glowing purple-highlighted silhouette as it rears back and roars.
Todd Mommy!
Electricity crackles around the figure as more lightning strikes.
Theme Plays

Act 1

Speaker Dialogue
Inside the R.V., as it's parked beside a lake somewhere in South Carolina, Gwen examines her spellbook while Ben's portable games console lets out beeping sounds as he plays it.
Ben You got to love summer vacation! Nothing to do all day long but sit around and-- oh! Hey!
Ben jolts up as Max puts his hand on his shoulder, while in his dressing gown and covered in shampoo.
Ben Grandpa, what gives?
Max What gives is that I ran out of water in the shower... again. (Max towels off his hair) It's your job to keep the tank full, Ben.
Ben I will. Just… later.
Gwen Sure. The same way you're "going" to make your bed, or take out the trash?
Both the bed and rubbish bin are shown to be in a state, overflowing and a mess.
Max Well, you're a fine one to talk, young lady. You think those dirty dishes are just gonna wash themselves?
Gwen (scoffs) But it's summer vacation, Grandpa.
Ben Yeah. If we wanted to do chores, we could have just stayed at home.
Joan (static over Ben's radio) Y'all ready for a little fresh air? Want a chance to commune with the animals? You know someone who needs to learn the value of some good, old-fashioned hard work? Then sign your whole clan up for a week at Dairyville's family fun farm camp! And experience life on a real working farm.
Ben (seeing Max's eyebrow raise) I do not like that look in his eye.
Max (driving down a road towards the farm) Trust me. You're gonna love it. When I was a kid, I spent every summer on my uncle Jedediah's farm. Learning the value of a little hard work is just what you kids need.
Chickens cluck and peck at seeds as the Tennyson arrive.
Joan Welcome. I'm Joan Maplewood. This is my son, Todd. You must be the Tennysons.
Max Yes. Call me Max. And these tenderfoots are my grandkids, Ben and Gwen.
Todd (excitedly) Hi!
Ben & Gwen (unimpressed) Hey.
Pig (oinks)
Joan Well, enough chit-chat. You're here to work. You can start by unloading that truckful of feed over there.
Max Righty-o!
Max enthusiastically walks over to the pile and hands Ben a bag, it weighing more than he expected, and surprising him as he catches it.
Ben Ugh! Oh, man. There's got to be like a thousand of these things. It looks like a job for--
Ben readies to transform using the Omnitrix but Max grabs his arm.
Max --Ben "I'm too lazy to fill a water tank" Tennyson -- and only him -- if you know what I mean.
Gwen Why do I get the feeling that the fun part of our summer vacation is suddenly over?
Later in the barn, Max brings a last bag to the huge pile.
Max Well, that's the last of it. Phew. Nothing like working up a good sweat, right, kids?
Ben and Gwen are visibly out of breath and panting while lying on the pile of feed bags. From the nearby house, Joan rings a triangle.
Joan Come and get it! Suppertime!
The five sit around a table and eat.
Max Mmm. Good grub, Joan.
Gwen Yeah, with no actual grubs in it for a change.
Ben So, no TV, no video games, no malls. What do you guys do for excitement around here?
Todd Well you won't believe what I saw last night.
Joan Now, none of that! No one's interested in your tall tales. Let's get these dishes washed and then hit the hay!
Ben What?! But it's still light out!
Max Trust me. You'll be glad you got the sleep come morning.
Todd leads the three guests through a cornfield.
Ben Okay, so spill it. What did you see last night?
Todd Ah, nothing. You wouldn't believe me anyway.
Gwen Try us. We've seen some pretty bizarre stuff this summer.
Todd Well, I was down in old man Johnson's pasture when, right in front of me… bigger than life was... ...A mummy! A genuine Egyptian walking-dead mummy!
Seeing Todd enact a zombie-like walk.
Ben & Gwen Really?
Leading them up some stairs to the top room of a building.
Todd Here it is -- home, sweet home for the next week.
Gwen Ew. What's that smell?
Todd Oh. This is the chicken coop, too. See you in the morning.
Max (inhales, exhales deeply) Isn't that great? Nothing like the smell of country air.
Ben (groans) Could this get any worse?
When Ben lays down on the bed a chicken's clucking startles him as he puts his head a pillow.
Ben Hey!
Ben takes the pillow and sees a chicken staring up at him.
Max (chuckles) Guess we won't have to worry about fresh eggs in the morning.
Ben pouts before gasping as the chicken jumps past him.
Ben sneaks out of the building, the moon now high in the sky. He runs round the corner and past Gwen waiting for him.
Gwen Going somewhere?
Ben Same place you are.
Ben & Gwen Mummy hunt!
The two run into the cornfield.
Ben and Gwen reach the barbed wire fence and crawl under it, Ben running ahead to glowing bright purple prints in the ground leading into a crater.
Ben Think that's where his tomb was?
Gwen (incredulously) An Egyptian tomb? In South Carolina?
Ben and Gwen inspect the glowing purple marks, before they hear a growling sound, looking up to see two mutated bulls on the hillside.
Gwen (gasps)
Ben Uh, I know I'm a city kid, but cows aren't supposed to look like that, right?
The two mutants charge towards them.
Ben Split up!
The two Tennysons dart in opposite directions, but the bulls only chase Gwen. Ben, having transformed into XLR8, grabs Gwen and carries her to safety.
Gwen Thanks. (gasps)
The bulls charge at the two, XLR8 rushing toward them, and Gwen running to a tree next to her, beginning to climb it. XLR8 runs behind them and shouts to grab their attention.
XLR8 Ha! Toro! Toro! Olé!
XLR8 runs a circle around them. They roar and one charges him again, XLR8 easily evading him and pulling his tail tauntingly.
Gwen Ben, look out behind you!
The other bull roars, and knocks XLR8 into the tree Gwen's hiding in.
XLR8 Ugh!
Gwen Never mind.
XLR8 gets to his feet and grabs the barbed wire as they continue to chase him. In a circular blue haze, kicking up dust, XLR8 stands over the defeated mutant bulls, having tied them up by the feet in the wire.
Gwen First a mummy, now mutant cows? What's happening on this freaky farm?
XLR8 One way to find out. Follow the glow trail!
Gwen Benjamin Tennyson, don't you dare leave me here...
XLR8's mask pops down before he shoots off, leaving only a trail of dust.
Gwen ...Alone!
XLR8 arrives further down the trail to a silo. At the base, the mummy digs up a glowing purple rock.
XLR8 Wow. Looks like Todd was right. But why would a mummy try to get back into the ground?
The Mummy's head snaps to face XLR8, roaring, surprising him and causing him to let out a gasp.

Act 2

Speaker Dialogue
XLR8 Whoa!
The Mummy leaps up into the air, silhouetting itself in front of the huge moon in the sky. He shoots his finger-tendrils back down, causing XLR8 to evade. He keeps some distance between them, standing by a shed, but the Mummy reels back and whips his arm, dragging along the ground as it extended until it explodes the shed next to XLR8 with the force of the whip. XLR8 pauses before running into the shed and throwing a barrage of handheld farming utensils out directly at the Mummy, who's body unwraps allowing them to pass through. The Mummy turns to see the farming tools imbed into the wood behind, and as he turns back he's met with a jumping kick by XLR8. As XLR8 lands he's grabbed by the Mummy and dragged towards him, and smacked across the field into the silo, where he staggers to his feet and dodges another barrage of blows from the wrapping-like limbs, by running up the silo to the roof. He looks down through his blue visor, only to be met with no sight of the Mummy. He turns to see the Mummy charging into him, punching him off of the roof. The Mummy grabs onto the silo and gently places himself down. XLR8 looks up to him, to back down at the beeping Omnitrix emblem as he de-transforms back into Ben.
Ben I hate it when that happens!
The Mummy shoots out his hands to either side of a flinching Ben, and grabs the support beams of the silo, pulling them away, and causing Ben to pause as it crashes down on him, only saved by Gwen rushing him to the side.
Gwen So, we even in the rescue department?
Ben Yeah. But where's the mummy? Major monster movie -- he was digging for something glowing at the bottom of the crater, but it's gone now.
The two look at the hole in the ground.
Back at the chicken coop, the Tennysons are sleeping at, Ben rests his head down on the pillow.
Ben Oh, man. I'm beat. I could sleep for a week. (yawns)
Joan's head peeks up at Ben's top bunk, right before the lights click on and startles Ben back up.
Joan Rise and shine, sleepyheads!
Ben falls out of bed and onto the floor.
Gwen You've got to be kidding. It's five A.M.
Joan And those cows aren't gonna milk themselves!
Max, in his lightning pajamas, gets up and stretches.
Max Uhh! Now, aren't you glad you went to bed early?
Ben & Gwen exchange tired looks with one another before turning back to Max.
In a barn, Todd sits by a cow as Max, Gwen, and Ben stand watching.
Todd Just squeeze and pull. Squeeze and pull.
Ben Ugh. Don't they have machines for this?
Todd Ma doesn't believe in them - says they spook the cows.
Ben Isn't there something else we could do?
Todd Well, the manure needs to be shoveled.
Flies buzz around the huge dung pile.
Ben & Gwen Milking.
Max walks out with a little wave to the cousins, as Todd shuts the barn door.
Ben (groans) This is gonna take forever! ...Unless we get a little, special help.
Gwen Ben, Grandpa told you specifically not to go alien to do this stuff!
Ben primes the Omnitrix.
Ben Yeah, I guess you're right. You wouldn't want to miss out on the experience of milking all these cows?
Gwen turns to a cow mooing, as she shudders.
Gwen So, what are you waiting for? Change already!
Ben smiles before hitting the Omnitrix dial.
Gwen rests on the straw pile, her hands behind her head, with a piece of straw in her mouth.
Gwen Oh, yeah. This is working out great.
Four Arms struggles as he holds up one of the cows in his arms and walks around the barn being pulled along by a cow whose tail he's holding onto.
Four Arms Stand still. I don't like this any more than you do.
The sound of a bucket getting kicked over is heard, as it flies across the barn.
Four Arms Hey, that one was almost filled!
The cows moo as Four Arms falls over backwards. There's a knock at the barn door, and the Tennysons panic.
Joan How's it going in there?
Joan opens the door only to see Gwen sitting alone in the barn on a stool.
Gwen Oh, just milking away!
Joan Where's that cousin of yours?
Gwen He… went to go get more buckets.
Joan raises an eyebrow.
Joan Oh. Well, when you're done here, find Todd...
Joan walks out the door and turns back.
Joan ...And he'll show you your other chores for the day.
As she closes the door, Four Arms' head pops out of the pile of hay.
Todd pours a bucket of pig feed over a fence, showing Ben and Gwen how to do it, as they look around to see a dozen other pig pens. Ben takes the bucket and once Todd walks away exchanges a look with Gwen and transforms into Wildvine to do it in no time. He slices the bags and carries them all at once, extending his arms over multiple pens at once.
A chicken clucks as Todd pulls out an egg it's laid from under it, handing it to Ben and Gwen outside. Once he's left Ben goes inside and turns into XLR8, rushing out with his arms full of eggs, and a chicken riding along pecking at his helmet.
The montage continues as Todd shows the cousins a horse and plow, before Ben turns into Wildmutt, and takes the plough to do it himself.
Finally Ben turns into Diamondhead to punch fence-post holes into the ground, ignoring Todd's demonstration with the unwieldy tool as tall as the kids.
At sunset the three kids walk back to the house.
Ben So, do you have to work like this every day?
Todd Naw! During planting and harvest seasons, we don't have it so easy. But, to tell you the truth, at least it keeps you busy. It's usually pretty boring around here. It's not like every day a mummy appears in a flash of purple lighting.
The two stop walking behind Todd and tun to each other.
Ben & Gwen Purple lightning?
Max is continuing to shovel the muck heap.
Max Purple lightning?
Ben Just like when we crossed paths with that alien werewolf!
Gwen No way that it's just a coincidence!
Max I'm not sure, but it can't be good. Come on. You guys can fill me in on the rest while I grab some gear.
Max holds up a device to inspect the restrained purple glowing cow.
Max Well, this would explain your mutant cows, but we've got an even bigger problem.
Gwen Bigger than a rampaging mummy and monster cows?
Max I'm picking up trace readings of Corrodium. It's a high-energy mineral not naturally found on Earth. My guess is a meteor must have crashed around here a few thousand years back, scattering debris all over the area.
Ben The mummy is a rock collector?
Max I'm afraid not, Ben. It's a powerful energy source that's very unpredictable. That's what mutated those cattle.
Ben So if that mummy gets his hands on more of this stuff...
Max He could turn every living thing on the eastern seaboard into the same kind of monsters.
The Tennysons look upon the mutant cow, as it struggles to get free and lets out a roar.
The Rustbucket drives up to a factory, Max having been directed from the device he inspected the cow with.
Max Scanner indicates that the Corrodium readings are highest right over there.
Ben Digby Dairy? They make my favorite ice cream!
A guard snores as the Tennysons sneak past into an open room. Max's device short circuits and lets out smoke as they arrive.
Max I'd say there's a big chunk of Corrodium buried right here, beneath the concrete.
Ben I'm on it!
Ben transforms into Diamondhead, and jumps down from the railing, beginning to smash the ground beneath.
Max Ben, wait.
Diamondhead (grunting as the room is bathed in a purple glow) Found it.
Gwen Nice work, genius. You just did the mummy's work for him!
Diamondhead thinks about it.
Diamondhead Oh, yeah.
The lights flicker off, as they turn to see the Mummy slowly make its way down the corridor towards them.
Max We've got company!

Act 3

Speaker Dialogue
The Mummy stares the three down, making unnatural swishing sounds as it moves.
Gwen I don't think he's here for the chocolate zoomies!
As the Mummy leaps towards the three, Diamondhead runs forward and skewers him.
Diamondhead Now that's got to hurt.
The Mummy wraps itself around Diamondhead's arm and propels him into some machinery nearby.
Diamondhead Hey, let go--!
The Mummy's tendril-wraps reach the unearthed Corrodium and pull it into his chest.
Max It's got the Corrodium!
Diamondhead makes a beeline of protruding crystals shooting out of the ground towards the Mummy, who leaps over it and swings along the ceiling pipes, throwing punches at Diamondhead, who catches one and uses its arm to pull the Mummy towards him to bat it away again into a wall. After a moment, as it gets back to its feet, Diamondhead charges it through the wall and into another room, where he smashes him through yet another wall. Max and Gwen run up to Diamondhead as the Mummy stalks its way towards them, opening the wraps on his chest and bathing the three in the purple glow.
Max He's trying to expose us to the Corrodium!
From a railing above the door opens and the sleeping guard walks into the room.
Security Guard Hey, what in blazes--
Max No. Get back!
Max gestures for him to leave but the Mummy grabs him and pulls him towards the Corrodium, turning him into another glowing irradiated mutant.
Security Guard Aah! Aah!
The mutant guard growls at Max and Gwen. Gwen looks down to see Max has put a self-fitting suit onto her, as he puts one on himself.
Max Level 10 hazmat suits. Don't think your parents would appreciate me bringing you home all… mutated.
Diamondhead Hey, what about me?
Max As long as you're in alien form, you should be safe from the mutation effects.
Diamondhead "Should be"? Uh ahh!
The Mummy wraps its back tendrils around Diamondhead and propels him away, crashing into machinery. The mutated guards hops toward the other two menacingly.
Max Run! Now!
The mutant misses a strike with its pointed arm, and as they run into another room Gwen begins doing hand-movements.
Gwen Well, here goes nothing. (chanting a spell) Mulcha Objectia!
Gwen shoots her hands toward the mutant, but from the gestures, the hazmat suit expands like air filling it up, and Gwen ricochets herself, launches across the different walls.
Gwen Uhh! Aaaaahh! Ugh!
Gwen ricochets into the approaching mutant as it swipes at Max. Her suit returns to normal.
Gwen Okay. Mental note -- never try to perform a spell from inside a hazmat suit.
The mutant scurries off, but as Max and Gwen walk away, it strikes again, causing them to retreat, while on the backfoot Max grabs a pipe from a nearby wall.
Max All right, now. I don't want to hurt you!
A slash from the mutant's arm cuts the pipe in half.
Max Uhh! So much for that idea.
Max backs off as the mutants swipes at him, eventually throwing the two pieces of piping as projectiles, but accomplishing little. He's punched backwards falling over a rail.
Max Uhh! Aah!
Max thuds on the ground below as the mutant turns to chase Gwen, who runs inside a machine's vent-like tunnel, but the pincer arms of the mutant cutting into it force her to jump out again. Max swings himself along on an industrial hook and knocks the mutant into another machine's enclosed/conveyor belt.
Max Let's "wrap" this up!
Gwen runs over to turn the machine on. It buzzes as the mutant is fed through and out the other side, wrapped up like a box. Max and Gwen don't get time to relax as they turn to see an explosion on the other side of the room.
Diamondhead continues to fight the Mummy, shooting crystals at him which he dodges. The Omnitrix times out in a flash of red and as the Mummy faces him down, looking shocked, Ben cheekily runs away, hiding around a corner as the Mummy runs past, losing him. Spooking him with a hand on the shoulder, Max smacks an self-expanding hazmat suit onto Ben.
Ben Okay. Not exactly my style, but...
The Mummy grabs Max with a wrapping tendril and throws him.
Max Ugh!
Ben runs as the Mummy chases behind him. Gwen shouts to him.
Gwen Ben. Slop the hogs!
Ben grabs a tub of slippery grease-like liquid and throws it on the ground in front of the running Mummy, who crashes into more machinery with a wail.
Ben Hey, Grandpa was right! This farmwork stuff really does pay off!
Gwen runs to a control panel and taps buttons as Ben finds an industrial hose.
Gwen One of these has got to do something. There!
Ben Eat marshmallow, Mummy!
Ben sprays the Mummy with a high powered stream of marshmallow material, blasting him into a giant vat. Gwen runs to a lever.
Gwen Or maybe you'd prefer peanuts!
Gwen activates the tube above the Mummy, pushing him down and into fan blades at the bottom of the vat.
Ben & Gwen Yeah!
The two recoil and cover their faces as bits of wrapping shoots back up at them.
Gwen Oh!
Ben and Gwen walk off, but as they do, a wrap grabs Ben by the ankle and pulls him towards the Mummy as it climbs out of the vat and reconstitutes itself.
Ben Yikes! Grandpa!
The Mummy clambers out, and begins tearing Ben's suit away as it's chest opens up revealing the glowing purple material.
Gwen His suit is ripping! He'll be exposed to the Corrodium!
As a tendrils wraps itself around Ben's left wrist, the Omnitrix dial pops out, cycling through the different silhouettes in its yellow sampling mode.
Max The Omnitrix -- it's sampling the mummy's alien DNA!
The Omnitrix faceplate stops on a mummy silhouette.
Max Ben, go alien before you begin to mutate. It's your only hope!
Ben Time to fight Mummy with Mummy!
Ben smacks the Omnitrix and transforms.
Upgrade Upgrade? Oh, man!
Disappointedly, Upgrade slithers out of the grasp, but is backhanded by the Mummy across the room and into a mechanical vat.
Max Be careful, Ben. That stuff is liquid nitrogen. It could freeze you solid in seconds.
Upgrade's expression narrows. The Mummy stalks over to him and he merges with the machine, sprouting legs and an Omnitrix emblem.
Upgrade Just wanted to get you all fired up, before cooling you way down -- permanently!
Upgrade shoots a beam of liquid nitrogen at the Mummy, who reaches through it to attack Ben, but is frozen completely solid before it can reach.
Upgrade Anybody for an extra-large order of mummy ripple?
Upgrade unmerges from a cement mixer, as Max finishes smoothing out a big patch of cement where Diamondhead had dug up the Corrodium.
Max Nice job, Ben. By the time the day shift begins, the concrete will be hard, and no one will ever know a mummy-sicle is buried under there!
Upgrade times out and de-transforms, to which Gwen screams in mock horror.
Gwen Aah! The Corrodium turned Ben into a hideous mutant!
Ben stands, his arms crossed, and an unamused look on his face.
Gwen Oh, wait. That's how you always look.
Ben “Hehehehehe”. That's so funny I forgot to laugh. Speaking of mutants, what about the cows and the security guard?
Max Don't worry about them. They weren't exposed long enough for it to be permanent.
As Max speaks, the Guard awakes in his monitoring booth, half naked.
Security Guard Ohh! Ohh!
The guard clutches himself in shock.
The trio leave the factory.
Max Guess we'd better head back to the farm. I'm sure Joan has more chores for us to do.
Ben Yeah, about that, Grandpa. Gwen and I just want to say...
Ben & Gwen Don't make us go back there, please! We've learned our lesson, Grandpa! We'll do our chores from now on -- promise!
Max Oh, thank goodness. I had forgotten how much I hated working on uncle Jedediah's farm when I was a kid.
Ben and Gwen smile as the three head off back to the Rustbucket.
Max Now, let's get out of here before I get stuck with manure duty again.
