| Night, Inside a warehouse. Ben is dodging a Highbreed's claw darts and hides behind cover. Gwen proceeds to fire Manna bolts at the alien, who responds with more claw darts that she dodges. | |
| Gwen | It's trying to run! Cut it off! |
| From atop some crates, Kevin leaps onto the Highbreed's back... only to immediately be swatted away. Ben races towards the Highbreed. | |
| Ben | I got it covered. |
| Leaping into the air, Ben activates the Omnitrix and transforms into Echo Echo. | |
| Echo Echoes | Echo (duplicates) Echooo! (lands around Highbreed) Going somewhere? |
| The Highbreed digs his hands into the ground, knocking over some Echo Echoes, before leaping behind Kevin, who is just now getting up. Gwen fires more Manna bolts at the Highbreed, stunning him and altering Kevin, who proceeds to absorb the concrete floor. Kevin uppercuts the Highbreed, launching it to the wall. Kevin turns to the Echo Echoes. | |
| Kevin | Nice going, Mr. "I've got it covered." |
| Echo Echoes | Hey, I'm all over it. |
| The Echo Echoes leap onto the Highbreed, pushing him through a crate and onto the floor. | |
| Highbreed | Don't touch me, creature. |
| The Highbreed looks behind him, noticing a large quartz ring that looks identical to the Chronolauger, and reaching towards it. | |
| Kevin | (offscreen) Don’t let him get in that thing, it’s a Teleporter Pod! |
| Kevin rips out a chunk of the concrete floor and throws it at the Teleporter Pod, hitting the rim and causing it to spark and activate. The Teleporter Pod sends out a bolt of blue energy that hits and surrounds the Highbreed and Echo Echoes. | |
| Highbreed | You've damaged the transmission field! |
| The Highbreed and Echo Echoes are pulled into the teleporter, and disappear. The machine deactivated, but still sparking. | |

| Now on a scorching hot desert planet, the Echo Echoes fall off of the Highbreed before getting back up. | |
| Highbreed | Microcephalic, vermin-ridden carcass! |
| Echo Echoes | That's an insult, right? |
| Highbreed | Your friend interfered with the Teleporter settings! |
| Echo Echo 1 | Well, to be fair, we were a little distracted... |
| Echo Echo 2 | ...What with you trying to kill us and all. |
| Highbreed | (offscreen) That's right. I was. (onscreen) In fact, I still am! |
| The Highbreed leaps at the Echo Echoes in front of him, who leap out of the way. An Echo Echo behind the Highbreed unleashes a sonic attack at him, sending him backwards. Echo Echo stops, only for the ground to begin shaking. | |
| Echo Echo | Whoa! Um, was that an earthquake? |
| The ground shakes again, and the Highbreed runs away as a large red worm-like creature with a large mouth to burst out of the sand. Echo Echo starts running with the Highbreed as the worm turns around and dives back into the ground, sending Echo Echo into the air. As Echo Echo soars through the air, the worm alien pursues him. | |
| Echo Echo | Whoa! Gonna need some (duplicates; grabs onto the worm alien's teeth) back up. |
| Echo Echoes | Now let's try this again. |
| The Echo Echoes jump off of the alien and unleash their sonic attacks on it, driving it to burrow into the sand and dropping the Echo Echoes onto the ground. | |
| Echo Echo 1 | Not good. |
| Echo Echo 2 & 3 | Not good. |
| Echo Echo 4 | Not good. Mm. |
| The worm emerges out of the ground and swallows an Echo Echo. | |
| Echo Echo | (screams) |
| After a beat, the worm alien spits out the Echo Echo, before turning to the fleeing Highbreed and gives chase. | |
| Echo Echo | (offscreen) Highbreed! Look out! |
| The Highbreed fires his claw darts at the worm while running, only for them to bounce off. Echo Echo is atop the worm and uses his sonic scream to disorient it, allowing the Highbreed to fire his claw darts again, this time piercing the worm's hide. The Highbreed runs out of the way as the worm alien crashes into the sand, slithering away into the distance. Echo Echo pats down his body and walks towards the Highbreed. | |
| Echo Echo | What was that thing?! |
| Highbreed | A Dravec. Its kind is numerous on this planet. In this planet. |
| Echo Echo | (walking past Highbreed) Then we’d better get off this planet before any more of them show up. |
| Highbreed | "We"? |
| Echo Echo | (stops) Yes, "we." You couldn’t defeat it alone. And I couldn’t. If more of them come, our only hope of survival is to fight together. You know I’m riiight. |
| Highbreed | I know no such thing. |
| Echo Echo | (walks past Highbreed) I don’t like this any better than you do. Um. How do we get off this, this um, planet, whatever it’s called? |
| Highbreed | We are on Turrawüste, a desert world, useful only as a Teleporter relay station. |
| Echo Echo | So, how come we didn’t beam into the Teleporter? |
| Highbreed | The damage to the pod must've temporarily shifted the focusing axis. |
| Echo Echo | Can you fix it? |
| Highbreed | If we find the Teleporter Pod station on this planet, we won’t need to fix it. Simply avoid hitting it with a rock while it’s activated. |
| Echo Echo | Okay, smart guy. Where is it? |
| Highbreed | Impossible to tell. |
| Echo Echo | Impossible for you, maybe. |
| Echo Echo screams into the distance, using his powers for echolocation until a twinkle is seen in the distance. | |
| Echo Echo | (offscreen) That way. (onscreen) It’ll take a day or more to reach on foot. Let’s go... |
| Echo Echo runs toward the Teleporter Pod, only to stop when the Highbreed doesn't follow. | |
| Echo Echo | C’mon, the sooner we get moving, the sooner we get home. (scratches butt) |
| Highbreed | Your kind... (offscreen, close up of Echo Echo's butt scratching) disgusts me. |
| Echo Echo | Huh? (turns around) What did you say? (stops scratching; looks at fingers) |
| Highbreed | I will not allow such a filthy creature to spend a single moment longer in my presence. (turns around) |
| Echo Echo | Freaks you out? I can take care of that. |
| Echo Echo twists the Omnitrix Dial, causing it to glow, before slamming on it, turning back into Ben. | |
| Ben | See? I'm really just a plain ol' human. |
| Highbreed | That is even worse. Be gone, foul thing. I shall traverse to the Teleporter alone. |
| The Highbreed starts walking away, only for the ground to shake again. | |
| Ben | We’ll have to watch each other’s backs. We don’t want any more Dravecs to get the drop on us. Or under us... You know what I mean. |
| The Highbreed pauses. | |
| Ben | Now what? |
| Highbreed | (turns to Ben) If I am forced to travel with you for my own safety, then you must keep ten paces behind me at all times. |
| Ben | But I’m the one who knows the way! |
| Highbreed | Ten paces. |
| Ben | Fine, whatever. Just get moving. |
| The Highbreed and Ben start walking towards the Teleporter Relay. | |
| Later, The Highbreed and Ben are still walking. | |
| Ben | Whew! Hot enough for ya? Heh. |
| Highbreed | (deadpan) Yes. |
| Ben | No, see, I wasn’t really asking. It’s just an expression. It means it is hot out. |
| Highbreed | It is obviously hot. I do not see the point of reiterating what we both already know. |
| Ben | Makes me glad I didn’t say, "It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity." |
| Highbreed | There is no humidity. It is, in fact, the heat. |
| Ben | I know! Just trying to make conversation. |
| Suddenly, the Highbreed collapses onto his knees. Ben rushes over to help, only for the Highbreed to extend an arm, signalling him to stop. | |
| Highbreed | Do not lay your hands on me, vile thing! |
| Ben | Here, (takes off jacket) you can use it to keep the sun off your head. |
| Ben tosses the jacket next to the Highbreed. | |
| Highbreed | I do not take charity from vermin. I merely require a moment's rest. |
| The Highbreed's body begins to shrivel under the heat. | |
| Ben | Rest won't cut it. You're dehydrated already. |
| Highbreed | The one true species thrives in a much cooler climate. |
| Ben | Humans like it cooler than this, too. But you’re actually wasting away here. I’ve got something that can help us both beat the heat. Hang on. |
| Ben activates the Omnitrix, selecting and transforming into Big Chill. | |
| Big Chill | Big Chill! |
| Big Chill uses his frost breath on the Highbreed, cooling him down. | |
| Highbreed | Desist! Stop that... this instant. |
| Big Chill | (stops) Why? |
| Highbreed | I did not... request... your assistance. |
| Big Chill | I know. Chill, dude. Ha! See what I did there? |
| Highbreed | I do not. |
| Big Chill | I made a little pun, see... (notices something offscreen) Hey! What’s that? |
| In the distance, there is a pool of water. | |
| Big Chill | Water! |
| Highbreed | Your powers of deduction... are truly staggering. |
| Big Chill | (sighs) Whatever. I’m getting a drink. I’ll bring some back for you. |
| Big Chill flies over to the pool and lands. He holds some water with his hands to drink, but is interrupted when the familiar teeth of the Dravec erupt from the sand and start closing in on Big Chill. | |
Act 2

| The Dravec's teeth start to close in as Big Chill spreads his wings and flies out, phasing through and freezing the Dravec with his intangibility. As the ice grows over the Dravec, Big Chill flies over to the Highbreed, still kneeling. | |
| Big Chill | It was a trap. |
| Highbreed | Gullible prey can often be lured by the right bait. Many creatures use this to their advantage. |
| The Dravec struggles against the ice, causing small pieces of the ice to break off. | |
| Big Chill | That thing's getting loose. Let's move! |
| Highbreed | You... cannot issue commands to me, mongrol! (stands up) Lesser being do my bidding. |
| The Dravec breaks its icy cover and swiftly slithers to the two. | |
| Highbreed | And I bid you to fight! |
| Big Chill | (sarcastic) Oh. Alright then. If you say so. |
| Big Chill flies into the Dravec's mouth and phases out of its hide, freezing it once more. The Dravec breaks free again, and Big Chill lands next to the Highbreed, who is visibly twitching. | |
| Big Chill | We can't keep this up much longer! |
| Highbreed | Follow my lead. |
| Big Chill | And do what? |
| Highbreed | Freeze him! |
| Big Chill | Already tried that. |
| Highbreed | From inside! Stay inside. Keep him frozen until I say otherwise. |
| Big Chill again flies into the Dravec's mouth, this time immediately freezing its mouth shut. | |
| Highbreed | Now! |
| As Big Chill phases through the beast's hide, the Highbreed fires his claw darts at the Dravec, piercing the ice and hitting the Dravec. With over a dozen darts hitting it, the ice breaks, as does the Dravec. Big Chill lands next to the Highbreed, who once again collapses. | |
| Highbreed | (groans) |
| Big Chill again moves to help the Highbreed, only for the Highbreed to refuse in the same manner. | |
| Highbreed | Don’t.. you dare. Leave me be. Now that the danger has passed, I can locate water myself. |
| The Highbreed opens his chest as two tendrils sprout out and burrow into the sand. | |
| Big Chill | Ugh. Gross! |
| Highbreed | There is water... below the sand... if one looks deeply enough... (the tendrils stop) There. |
| Big Chill | I didn't know you Highbreeds were some kind of plants. |
| Highbreed | (the tendrils start moving again) We are not "some kind" of anything. The Highbreed is the only kind. |
| The tendrils retract out of the sand to reveal water emerging from the holes. | |
| Evening, Ben drinks the water with his hands. | |
| Ben | (slurps) Ah... |
| The Highbreed and Ben continue walking, only for Ben to stop as he hears a noise, once caused by insects emerging underneath the sand far away from him. | |
| Ben | Did you hear something? (looks around) |
| Highbreed | (continues walking) I heard nothing. Except you, human. Which is the same as nothing. |
| Ben | (resumes walking) Ha. Ha. |
| Unbeknownst to Ben, the sand unfurls to reveal cockroach-like insects that follow him. | |
| Highbreed | I believe I'm beginning to grasp your concept of "humor." |
| Behind them, a swarm of insects are tailing the two. Suddenly, the ground begins to shake. | |
| Ben | More Dravecs underground? |
| Highbreed | (turns around) Worse... |
| Ben | C'mon! Worse? |
| Ben turns around as well, noticing the swarm. | |
| Highbreed | Dasypodidae! |
| Ben | They're little! How could these guys possibly be worse than Dravecs? |
| The Dasypodidae crawl all over Ben. | |
| Ben | Ng - Ah! (swats some off) |
| The Dasypodidae also swarm onto the Highbreed who too tries swatting them off. The bugs cause Ben to fall onto the ground, but Ben shoots his arm up, activates the Omnitrix, and turns into Swampfire. | |
| Swampfire | Swampfire! |
| Swampfire hurls fireballs at the Dasypodidae. | |
| Swampfire | Hnng! This will only take... (hurls another fireball) a second. |
| The Highbreed swats away more bugs as Swampfire continues his assault, not even making a dent in the swarm. | |
| Swampfire | Did I say a second? Cause I think maybe more like an hour. |
| Highbreed | (groans; rips of insects) |
| Swampfire runs past the Highbreed and away from the swarm and towards a rocky hillside, before turning back. | |
| Swampfire | Highbreed! This way! |
| After a brief pause, the Highbreed follows Swampfire up the hill, before Swampfire blasts away a nearby rock to crush the swarm. The blast also causes a landslide that the Highbreed is caught in. | |
| Highbreed | (screams) |
| Swampfire grabs the Highbreed's arm, catching him. The landslide buries the Dasypodidae swarm. The landslide stops. | |
| Swampfire | You're welcome? |
| Highbreed | How dare... you filthy... (rips away his arm) Unhand me! |
| Swampfire | What is with you? Yeah, you don’t like the creatures I turn into, I get it. But c’mon! I was saving you! Cut an alien monster guy some slack once in a while. |
| The Highbreed stays silent, and resumes walking. Swampfire bitterly follows. | |
| Swampfire | (muttering) "Ten paces behind..." |
| Night, The Highbreed and Swampfire are still walking to the Teleporter. | |
| Swampfire | (muttering to himself) The second we’re off this planet, I’ll show him ten paces behind... |
| Swampfire creates a small flame on his finger. As the two near a slanted rock formation, Swampfire stops. | |
| Swampfire | This is as good a place as any to set up camp for the night. |
| Highbreed | (continues walking) No. We shall walk through the night. |
| Swampfire | (mocking) No, we shall camp here for the night. |
| Highbreed | (stops; turns) I would not use such an insolent tone with me, lesser creature. |
| Swampfire | (runs to Highbreed) Oh, really? |
| Highbreed | You have not yet dealt with me at my full strength. (gestures to himself) See how the cool night air has begun to restore me? |
| Swampfire | (wary) Yeah, I noticed. |
| Highbreed | I shall carry on from here on my own! |
| Swampfire | Alright. Go then. (turns) |
| Highbreed | You have outstayed your usefulness to me. (turns and starts walking) |
| Swampfire | So have you! |
| Just then, a Dravec's roar is heard in the distance. The Highbreed stops as the two turn back to each other. | |
| Highbreed | We shall... camp here for the night. |
| Later, Swampfire is sitting by a fire and hits his Omnitrix symbol, turning back into Ben. The Highbreed is standing from a distance. | |
| Ben | Pull up a boulder, sit down. |
| Highbreed | So your infernal pit can deplete me of my strength? I think not. |
| Ben | It’s a campfire. It’s a tradition. You sit around it and, y’know, talk. |
| Highbreed | To you? For what conceivable purpose? |
| Ben | My name is Ben, Ben Tennyson. What’s yours? |
| Highbreed | I am called Reinrassig the Third, seventh son of the noble Highbreed House of Di Razza, direct descendent of the pure-blooded High Order of Rasecht, heir to the- |
| Ben | I'm gonna call you Reiney. |
| Reinrassig III | That is disrespectful, Benbentennyson. |
| Ben | It's weird. Despite the fact that I don’t trust you any farther than Humungousaur could throw you... It’s still pretty cool how we’ve managed to work together to survive. I mean, we may not be friends exactly, but we’re not full-on mortal enemies anymore either. |
| Reinrassig III | You and I are enemies. |
| Ben | But we’ve been able to see past our differences. Probably because I know what it’s like to be, well, not a Highbreed exactly... But a whole bunch of other kinds of alien creatures kinda like you. (shows Omnitrix) Thanks to this, I get to walk a mile in other lifeforms’ shoes. So I can totally understand what it’s like to be them, since I have been them. |
| Highbreed | Such presumption! (offscreen) But what else is to be expected from a genetically inferior creature? |
| Ben | I... I don't... what? |
| Reinrassig III | Why would I, a Highbreed, be the slightest bit interested in befriending the revolting likes of you? (points) |
| Ben | I'm just trying to be nice here. (stands) Find some common ground or something. |
| Reinrassig III | You and I are more than mere enemies. Highbreeds were the very first race in the universe. All species hence, other than pure-blooded Highbreeds, (offscreen; Ben looks angry) are nothing but mongrels, hideous abominations of nature. Especially humans! (onscreen) As soon as I no longer require your aid for my own protection, Benbentennyson, I shall eradicate you. And there will be one less vermin infesting a grateful universe! |
| Ben | You can't really believe all that! Not after everything we’ve been through, not after the way I’ve been helping you! |
| Reinrassig III | When you weren't trying to kill me. |
| Ben is speechless. | |
| Reinrassig III | You are tired, human. I shall take the first watch. |
| Ben | Oh, no. I’m wide awake. You get some sleep. I’ll take the first watch. |
| Later, Ben is asleep, while Reinrassig III is looking into the distance. Reinrassig III turns and slowly crawls to Ben. Ben wakes up just in time to see Reinrassig III strike downwards towards him. | |

Act 3

| Ben | (screams) |
| Reinrassig III fires his claw darts... at an armadillo-like alien. | |
| Armadillo Alien | (screeches) |
| The alien is seemingly killed belly-up, only to turn back onto its legs just before Reinrassig III grabs hold of it. The alien responds by biting Reinrassig III's arm. | |
| Reinrassig III | (screams) |
| Reinrassig III swats away the armadillo-like pest, its carcass falling onto the ground... as well as Reiney's own hand. | |
| Ben | Can you regenerate it?! |
| Reinrassig III | I am not a lowly Homo palustris! |
| Ben | But it can be healed. |
| Reinrassig III | Not from such an injury as this. Not in these conditions. |
| Ben rushes over the Reinrassig III, activates the Omnitrix, and turns into Swampfire again. Grabbing the severed arm, Swampfire places it against the Highbreed's stump, and wraps them with his vines. Swampfire makes a 'tada' gesture as Reinrassig III regains the use of his hand, which is now green and infused with Methanosian DNA. Swampfire twists his Omnitrix dial and turns back into Ben. | |
| Ben | Better? |
| Reinrassig III | Why would you help me? |
| Ben | Why would you help me? |
| Reinrassig III | It was in my own interests to stop that creature from harming you. |
| Ben | Yeah? Well it's in my interests to help out anyone who needs it. |
| Silent, Reinrassig III sits down and resumes watching while holding his arm. | |
| Later, Ben throws some sticks into the campfire, and briefly looks at Reiney. Suddenly, the rock Ben's sitting on starts shaking. Reiney turns and fires his claw darts at the rock, which stops shaking. Ben walks over and steps on the unmoving rock, turning to Reiney and grinning. Reiney resumes watch, only for a Dravec to burst out of sand beneath them and knock Ben back. Reiney rushes towards the Dravec, running away and firing his claw darts at the beast. The Dravec is unharmed and chases Reiney. | |
| Reinrassig III | Benbentennyson! |
| Reiney ends up grabbing onto the Dravec's tooth and is about to be lowered into the beast's mouth, just as Ben climbs onto the Dravec and carries a burning stick to the monster's mouth. Ben throws the burning stick into the Dravec's mouth, causing it to close its outer teeth and drop Reiney, Ben following him to the ground. Slithering away, the Dravec spits a jet of fire out of its mouth. With smoke coming out of its mouth, the Dravec burrows into the ground, tail first. | |
| Ben | Maybe you were right. Maybe we should walk at night. |
| Ben starts walking, and Reiney soon follows. | |
| Later, Ben and Reiney are still walking. | |
| Ben | Thanks for saving me back there. Again. This is a huge thing! A sign of personal growth! Proof that underneath it all, Highbreeds aren’t really so bad. That despite those terrible things you may have said before, you really do want to try to be friends with a human. |
| Reiney stops, grimly silent. | |
| Dawn, Ben and Reiney walk up a hill and see something. | |
| Ben | There it is! C'mon! |
| It's the Teleporter Pod! Ben starts running to it, but stops when Reiney doesn't follow. | |
| Ben | Not the "ten paces behind" thing again. |
| Reinrassig III | Go home, Benbentennyson. I shall remain here. |
| Ben | Did you hit your head or something? There's the Teleporter! We can finally get off of this sandtrap of doom and back to our lives. |
| Reinrassig III | I have spent too long with you, Benbentennyson. And have therefore myself become contaminated. |
| Ben | Contaminated? |
| Reinrassig III | As clearly evidenced by my uncharacteristic behavior, risking my own life to save you, a lowly human. |
| Ben | Reiney, what you did was a good thing. |
| Reinrassig III | I have obviously become infected by your mongrel influence, (shows Methanosian arm) and am now myself unclean. |
| Ben | But even if I believed that was true, why stay here? |
| Reinrassig III | In self-imposed exile. As it should be. For I can never return home. Or anywhere. I could infect the rest of my kind. The only honorable choice is... to remain here. |
| Ben | No... |
| Reinrassig III | Because all lesser beings other than pure, unadulterated Highbreeds must be expunged from the universe! Including myself. |
| Ben | I thought I had gotten through to you. I thought you had changed! |
| Reinrassig III | This much is true... I have changed. And now... (walks past Ben) I must pay the price. |
| Back on Earth, Kevin is trying to activate the Teleporter Pod with Gwen right behind him. | |
| Kevin | Everything looks fine, but I can't make it work. |
| Gwen | We've got to fix it, Kevin. We have to find- |
| Suddenly, the Teleporter Pod activates. Kevin jumps back as Ben materializes out of the Teleporter, the Pod deactivating behind him. | |
| Gwen | Ben! (hugs Ben) |
| Kevin | You gave us a big scare. (ruffles Ben's hair) |
| Gwen | Where's the Highbreed? Did he get away? |
| Ben | (sad) I doubt it. |
| Back on Turrawüste, Reiney looks at the Teleporter Pod, before turning back, and walking away. | |
